Is MegaSquirt universal?
The MegaSquirt® family of EFI controllers (including MS-I™, MS-II™, MicroSquirt®, and the MS-II Sequencer™) is a series of experimental Do-It-Yourself universal programmable electronic fuel injection controllers for spark ignition, liquid fuelled internal combustion engines.
What is MegaSquirt fuel system?
MegaSquirt is a general-purpose aftermarket electronic fuel injection (EFI) controller designed to be used with a wide range of spark-ignition internal combustion engines (i.e., non-diesel engines.) MegaSquirt was designed by Bruce Bowling and Al Grippo in 2001.
Can you make an ECU with Raspberry Pi?
And, in the same way you can bang a screw in with a lump hammer, you can probably make an ECU from a Pi – it’s easily fast enough to do the job.
What does a MicroSquirt do?
MicroSquirt is ready to support a wide variety of engines out of the box, with the ability to control anything with one to eight cylinders with batch fire fuel injection and up to four channels of logic ignition. This can be used for “coil on plug” on a four cylinder or wasted spark on a V8.
Is there a universal ECU?
ECUMASTER EMU BLACK is a universal engine control computer that manages the operation of spark-ignition engines, and is designed to work with the most advanced and complex currently available engines.
What can Megasquirt do?
In simplest terms, a megasquirt allows you to control and program the fuel being pumped into your engine and when the spark plugs fire. If you’re not doing any modifications to the engine that would drastically change how that behavior would be with the stock computer, there’s little benefit to it.
Is Megasquirt open source?
A big reason why Speeduino and RusEFI exist as open source projects is that Megasquirt, whilst they make the source available for viewing, is very much NOT under an open license. You can’t use it on anything but their hardware, can’t modify it, can’t copy it etc.
Can you tune a car with a Raspberry Pi?
Once connected you’ll be able to interrogate your car’s onboard computer, check errors, monitor performance, and perform diagnostics. You might even be able to tune the engine, with the right skills and know-how.
Can I use a MegaSquirt® EFI controller on the road?
Competition vehicles that are never operated on public roads may be able to use MegaSquirt® EFI controllers, and some older ‘non-emissions’ on-road vehicles might be able to use MegaSquirt® EFI controllers as well. For other regions, please check your local regulations to see if a MegaSquirt® EFI controller is legal for your application.
What are MegaSquirt® and microsquirt ® controllers?
MegaSquirt® and MicroSquirt® controllers are experimental devices intended for educational purposes. MegaSquirt® and MicroSquirt® controllers are not for sale or use on pollution controlled vehicles. Check the applicable laws in your locality to determine if using MegaSquirt is legal for your application.
Is there a compiler available for the MegaSquirt-II?
A freeware compiler for MS-I is available too, so there are no extras to buy. MegaSquirt-II uses the MC9S12C64 processor, and the code is written in the C programming language. For more info, see: All MegaSquirt® EFI Controllers use Java-based TunerStudioMS software for firmware reprogramming, engine monitoring, and tuning.
Where can I find the assembly code for Megasquirt-I?
A. MegaSquirt-I uses the Motorola 68HC908 microprocessor and a Motorola MAP sensor to provide electronic fuel control. The MegaSquirt-I assembly code for MegaSquirt-I is available on the MegaSquirt web site, for anyone who wishes to view or customize it.
