Does NJIT have single dorms?
Redwood Hall is a coed facility that houses 185 first-year and upper-class students living in single and double rooms. Residents share traditional floor bathrooms amongst the residents of the floor. NJIT students use electronic cards for access to the residence halls.

NJIT is a great school. The classes are challenging and students are nice. The students are very focused on their academics. Some people come into NJIT freshman year and think its is like Rutgers or Penn State, there isn’t much school spirit tbh and alot of students commute.

With a GPA of 3.59, New Jersey Institute of Technology requires you to be around average in your high school class. You’ll need a mix of A’s and B’s, and very few C’s. If you have a lower GPA, you can compensate with harder courses like AP or IB classes.

In addition to a number of conference, academic and community facilities, the building houses a first-class basketball arena, swimming pool, locker rooms, indoor track, concessions, suites, offices and a fitness center.
Where should I Live at NJIT?
Congratulations on your decision to make NJIT housing your home away from home! Eligible first-year students can request to live in the Albert Dorman Honors College, Cypress, and Redwood Halls while sophomores through seniors can live in all residential communities. Single graduate students enjoy apartment-style housing in Oak Hall.

Is the Office of Residence Life affiliated with off-campus housing?
The Office of Residence Life is not affiliated with any Off-Campus housing, however, we provide resources for students to assist in their search. The student is to contact the landlord directly for any questions related to the rental. For information regarding the New Jersey Transit (Bus & Rail).
What are the facilities in a residence community?
All residence rooms are fully furnished, air-conditioned, and wireless. Each residence community has common areas and facilities including: study space, community kitchens, laundry rooms, recreational game rooms & lounges, and snack and beverage machines. Cable and telephone services are not provided.
