How do I know if I have MT1 or MT2?
An MT1 and MT2 have the same taper per inch, but the length of the Morse Taper is different. The best way to know which taper you need for your lathe is to consult your owner’s manual. Will a R8 mill fit on a MT4?
It looks like all the Mill/Drills are sold with either MT2, MT3 or MT4. The Mill on my short list has an MT4 and really the question is will MT4 be a problem. The Company selling the MILL has all the likley need attachments to suit MT4. Looks R8 is an american standard to suit popular american mills.
