The World Health Organisation guidelines were designed for making up a feed without a Perfect Prep machine and state that boiled water, which has cooled for no more than 30-minutes, should be used.

HOW LONG CAN I LEAVE UNUSED WATER IN THE TANK? Water is a food stuff, so we recommend using within 1-2 days. If water has been left in the hopper for longer, then please empty and refill before next use.

Just fill the machine with tap water – you are only creating extra work for yourself by boiling it first. The instructions are very clear, you just need to use tap water. Don’t use boiled and cooled water, or filtered water. Just follow the instructions, OP.

Press the cleaning mode button for 2 seconds to empty the tank (ensure a suitably sized receptacle is under the dispenser outlet to collect the water). Then press the filter volume reset button for 2 seconds to clear the memory. Remove the old filter from the hopper and discard. Replace the hopper (without filter).
