Landstar employee orientation centers are located in the following states: Indianapolis, Indiana; Grand Prairie, Texas; Reno, Nevada; Rockford, Illinois; Lewistown, Pennsylvania, and Jacksonville, Florida. You’ll have the option to attend an orientation program closest to you.
What happens at Landstar orientation?
Each new Landstar owner-operator attends a two-day orientation, with one day devoted to the topic of running a profitable, successful business. Spouses, significant others, and business partners are encouraged to attend.

How do I get started on Landstar?
Landstar Owner-Operator Minimum Requirements
- 23 years of age or older.
- Class A CDL with HazMat (H) or combination (X) endorsement.
- One (1) year of verifiable over-the-road driving within the past three years (3) or three years of verifiable experience in the last 10 years.
