Can you mountain bike down Snowdon?
The Snowdon Voluntary Cycling Agreement restricts when you can cycle up and down Snowdon during the summer months. Sophie Gordon, Cycling UK’s off-road campaigns officer, explains why the agreement is important. As the highest mountain in Wales at 1085m, Snowdon is a classic challenge for mountain bikers.
How long does it take to cycle down Snowdon?
That was going to be 40 to 50 minutes each way on a mountain bike, perhaps a bit more. Call it two hours. With a departure time of 8am, that meant that I had approximately two and a half hours to actually climb the mountain and get back down again.
When can you cycle up Snowdon?

The high level of use of the bridleways to the summit of Snowdon for off-road cycling had led to some serious concerns.
