Are tutorials compulsory USYD?
There is a strong correlation between attendance at tutorials and exam performance. They are also a compulsory part of the unit. If you miss a tutorial or know you are going to, check the list of tutorials available for this unit and try your hardest to make one of the other times.

How is the first year at USYD?
In first year you will have a 5 day week at USYD with virtually no exceptions. As in first year you only get 1 elective unit as you will be doing physics/chemistry, mathematics and engineering units.
What is it like to study at USYD?
USyd has a great reputation, and decent facilities for undergrads. You also get lovely sandstone and the whole ‘prestige’ thing. I’d say the quality of learning and academic outcomes are the same as those at UNSW. Other things like social life/clubs and societies/etc are much more developed at USyd than UNSW. 2.
