Is NMC revalidation every 3 years?
The registration process: Every three years from when you join (or re-join) the register you will need to renew your registration by revalidating. Every year you will also need to retain your registration by paying an annual registration fee. If you don’t complete these processes on time your registration will expire.

Who can be Confirmer for revalidation?
You need to be in a position to confirm that the nurse, midwife or nursing associate has met the revalidation requirements (see pages 12-20). Most confirmers will be the nurse, midwife or nursing associate’s line manager and be very familiar with the their practice.
Can mandatory training be used for revalidation?
These can be used as evidence of continuing professional development for your revalidation. Mandatory training that is not directly related to your practice (for example, fire training or health and safety training) cannot be included as part of your CPD.

What evidence do I need for revalidation?
When you attend an accredited programme, you will receive an RCN certificate and a model for structured reflection. These can be used as evidence of continuing professional development for your revalidation.
