Is FN FAL reliable?
Aside from that, virtually all soldiers who used the FN remember it fondly for its durability and reliability. Its effective range of 600 meters could be extended to 800 meters in expert hands, but it was never quite as steady a long-range firing platform compared to the M14.

Are DSA Fals high quality?
The DS Arms SA58 FAL has great ergonomics and aesthetics, but our non-functioning trigger and lackluster accuracy put a damper on our testing. However, in a world where it’s difficult to find a modernized FAL, the high price tag of around $2200 might be your only bet.
Is the FN FAL The Best Gun?
Overall, the FAL is objectively a superior combat arm than the M14; one designed for harder use, while offering similar performance. The FAL isn’t an ideal designated marksman rifle in its current form. But it could have been an incredible asset to infantry dealing with distant treats and priority targets.
Is the SA58 reliable?
It is quite serviceable, extremely ergonomic, and an all-around reliable firearm. Do I think it’s worth it for its price tag? If I had the money to spend on it — I say “why not?” If I want a fun weapon to take at the range or a good rifle for my home’s defense system, the DS Arms FAL SA58 is a good choice.

Why is the FN FAL so good?
The FAL’s use of all-steel components makes it very durable but also vastly heavier than the SCAR. Still, the mothballed M-14s that were pressed back into service post-9/11 were even heavier (especially with some of the accurizing chassis that were attached to them later).
