All of the servers in the group will be connected together. It is important that you never mix Connected Realms with CRZ (Cross-Realm Zones). If the guild belongs to the server that is merged with yours, then you can definitely join the guild without any problem.

Why did Blizzard merge servers?
Blizzard doesn’t merge servers, period. They do “Connected Realms”, which means your name is shown as Wamp-Mannoroth to people on the realm your server gets “connected” to. That just sounds like a server merger with extra steps It was Blizzard’s way sneaking in the removal of realms and turning it into one giant Realm.

Yeah “server mergers” look really bad at quarterly stockholder meetings but “exciting new cross realm technology” goes over just fine. Share holders care only about quarterly sales, sales projections, and the value of their shares.
