The sole purpose of a Trap Element is to capture the other Element that shares its name. These other elements are often powerful spells or Summons. For example, if you want to get the ★ Sonja Summon Element, you need to use the ↓ Sonja Trap element on an enemy like Prey Mantis (Another World).
How do you use traps in spoilers?
Simply play the Trap element at the beginning of battle and wait for the enemy to use that Element or Summon. Your Trap element will prevent the enemy from being able to perform the attack and you will get it in your spoils after the battle is finished!

The easiest place to get Trap Elements is by vising the shop in Marbule (either Home World or Another World). Note that these shops will only stock Trap elements after completing certain sections of the story walkthrough. After completing the S.S. Invincible chapter of the main story.
