EoC, or Evolution of Combat, is a game and combat mode in RuneScape, released in 2012, with new abilities and different interface (the map, chatbox, inventory, etc.) from the old style interface used at the time.

When a player defeats a monster, an amount of experience points is awarded according to its life points, combat difficulty and the damage dealt by the player. How do I turn on my EoC?
Either option of Legacy Mode can be enabled by ticking the relevant box in Options Menu > Game Settings tab > General Gameplay section. To return to EoC mode, disable Legacy Mode by clicking to un-tick the above Legacy boxes.
Does prayer affect combat level?
The release of Evolution of Combat changed the formula significantly, giving players a minimum level of 4 and a maximum level of 200. Constitution and Prayer were no longer taken into account, and only the highest of Attack, Strength, Ranged, Magic, or Summoning, together with Defence, was used in the calculation.
Is EoC better than legacy?
Legacy mode is just a reskin of EoC, except EoC is higher DPS, has higher burst (thresholds), EoC has stuns, and EoC has defensive abilities such as Freedom. It isn’t worth playing Legacy. If you want the old combat system, play Old School.

How does the evolution of combat affect attack Styles?
Prior to the Evolution of Combat, the chosen attack style would generally determine which skills received combat experience. Additionally, most weapons could only train certain skills; for example, the abyssal whip did not have an option for training Strength. All weapons can now train any related combat skill.
