What is the 100% Bright Futures scholarship called?
The Bright Futures Scholarship allows Bright Futures Florida Academic Scholars (FAS) and Bright Futures Florida Medallion Scholars (FMS) students to receive award funding during summer terms. FAS students will receive an award that covers 100% of tuition and applicable fees for the summer term.

Will I lose Bright Futures if I withdraw?
You will be required to reimburse the Florida Department of Education for the cost of any courses dropped or withdrawn from after drop/add. If not paid back, you will lose your Bright Futures scholarship permanently. After repayment, those hours are returned to your hour’s remaining for funding purposes.
Is Bright Futures only for Florida colleges?
Bright Futures awards are available for both Florida Academic Scholars and Florida Medallion Scholars enrolled in the spring/summer term at the University of Florida.

For the Classes of 2021 and 2022, the SAT requirements are 1330 for the FAS and 1210 for the FMS. The ACT requirements are 29 for the FAS and 25 for the FMS. Community service is REQUIRED for both scholarships. Computer Science is NOT considered math or science for Bright Futures.
Do you have to pay back Bright Futures If you fail a class?
Students who drop a course will have to repay Bright Futures and potentially might not meet renewal criteria for their scholarship if they fall below a certain number of credit hours for the academic year.

Bright Futures requires each student to complete a FAFSA (Free Application for Student Aid) application each school year before the May 15 deadline. Once your FAFSA is completed, you will receive a notice from FAFSA indicating your ‘Expected Family Contribution’ or EFC.
