There was an armed robbery at Rancho La Puerta about two weeks ago. It was a well-organized commando style operation by obviously well trained and cooridinated gansters.

I would NOT recommend crossing at Tecate back into the US from Baja. It used to be a pretty quick border crossing but now it has similar wait times to San Ysidro and usually longer than Otay crossing. It’s only two lanes and if one of the border patrol agents is being very thorough, it could double your wait times.
