TRAINING THAT REFLECTS THE MISSION Enlisted recruits head off to Boot Camp at the Great Lakes Naval Training Center north of Chicago, Illinois, near the western shore of Lake Michigan. While it’s called Boot Camp, it’s really a huge campus that includes both classroom and lots of hands-on training.
How long is Navy basic training and a school?

*COMPASS is a 12-hour program taught in three four-hour sessions. With Mentors acting as discussion leaders, participants are encouraged to ask any questions they may have in a non-judgmental atmosphere. There is one Mentor Team at each location. Session teams come from the main Mentor Team and present the scheduled COMPASS sessions.
