What can I do with an old Dexcom transmitter?
When the battery in your dexcom transmitter dies, many people throw it away and buy a new one. If you sell dead Dexcom transmitters to be refurbished, you can make money and help recycle your product instead of wasting it.
Can you use an expired Dexcom?
If you don’t use your Dexcom sensor before the expiration date, you may be kicking yourself at the money you’ve wasted. However, just because it’s expired doesn’t mean you have to throw it away. You can sell expired Dexcom sensors as well to be refurbished.
Can you reuse Dexcom G6 transmitter?
If you’d like to use the transmitter beyond the 112 days, and instead use the transmitter until the end of its battery life, you can use the same process described in my G5-reset-transmitter post. The G6 transmitter can be reset at any time just like the G5 transmitters.
Can Dexcom transmitter be reused?
If you haven’t received your final 10-day transmitter battery life warning, you can reuse the transmitter for your next session. Starting at 3 weeks before the end of its battery life, the warnings count down the transmitter battery life until it has only 10 days – one sensor session – left.
Can you wear Dexcom G6 longer than 10 days?
The G6 is FDA approved for 10 day wear only and it is possible that the sensor isn’t as accurate the longer you wear it. I extend my sensors at my own risk, and so should you.

You can manually stop your transmitter and sensor by going to Settings > Transmitter > Pair New. You will be prompted to stop your sensor if your current sensor session is still active.
