Are Borla Pro XS mufflers loud?
This muffler has a great sound. I have a friend who had this on his pickup and it sounds great; not to loud. However, I put this on a trailblazer 5.3 and it’s a little loud for my liking.

Like I said above, I’m confused with Borla’s muffler lineup and rating. When is talked to Borla they made it sound like the only difference between the xr1 and the pro xs was a heavier duty design in the xr1.
Is exhaust note louder than the pro XS?
Exhaust note is louder than the Pro XS and XR1 multi-core mufflers, especially as rpms increase. Borla recommends resonators to reduce exhaust noise, they claim no loss of HP. I took flo’s off and put the Pro XS on my S.C. coupe.
How much HP can a multicore muffler handle?
XR1 multicore mufflers: For HP ranges from 550 to 650 HP. Not ideal for blown applications exceeding those HP levels. Louder than the Pro XS mufflers.
