Can you sand a marine 5200?

Does heat help 5200 cure?
Heat should accelerate the cure, but it needs water too. Remember, polyurethane cures by moisture so mist it with a spray bottle to add some humidity in the area of the caulk and it will cure faster.

Does 3M 5200 adhere to aluminum?
5200 will not “bond” to either starboard or aluminum. It may “stick” to aluminum but will not hold starboard well at all. Your best bet is to have one or two small tabs welded to the transom and use these to screw or bolt on a piece of starboard for mounting.
Does bottom paint stick to 5200?
The bottom paint won’t stick long to the 5200. I have spray rails on my 77 Seacraft and there is a bead of 5200 on the edge, the paint flakes off easily. I found where the previous owner of my boat had used 5200 around on of my rudder shaft logs. The bottom paint would not stick to it.
Can you paint 5200?
3M 5200 Marine Adhesive Sealant is sandable and paintable after it is fully cured. The problem with painting a flexible sealant like this is that, if the paint is not as flexible as the sealant, the paint will crack.
Can you use 5200 on PVC?
