Does 3M 5200 adhere to aluminum?

5200 will not “bond” to either starboard or aluminum. It may “stick” to aluminum but will not hold starboard well at all. Your best bet is to have one or two small tabs welded to the transom and use these to screw or bolt on a piece of starboard for mounting.
