What does Unitrunker do?
Unitrunker can be used to decode the control channel and follow a voice conversation as it hops across various frequencies. With two RTL-SDR dongles you can set up a trunking receiver station with just Unitrunker.
What is SDR trunking?
SDRTrunk is an application that allows you to follow trunked radio conversations, and decode some digital voice protocols such as P25 Phase 1. It is similar to Unitrunker and DSDPlus combined into one program. It is also Java based so it is cross platform and so can be used on Linux and MacOS systems as well.
What is DSD plus?
DSDPlus is a Win32 application capable of reliably decoding multiple types of digital audio formats commonly found on VHF, UHF and 800 MHz, including (but not necessarily limited to): P25 Phase 1. ProVoice EDACS Digital voice. X2-TDMA – Motorola public safety TDMA system with P25 style signaling (mostly based on DMR)

How do I setup unitrunker to communicate with my Radio?
Press HOLD on the system, the control channel should be displayed along with the SysID on the radio. Run UniTrunker. Set the receiver type to “inline”, role to “signal”, and set the model to your model. Set the com port to the correct one, as well as the port attributes (115200 baud rate, 8 data bits, 1 stop bit, and no parity).
Is SDR receiver software still required to use unitrunker?
This means that extra SDR receiver software like SDR# is no longer required to use Unitrunker. You can download the latest version of Unitrunker here. In a normal radio system, one company (or talkgroup) might use a single frequency for radio communications.
What’s new with unitrunker?
The all-new Unitrunker makes an “alpha release” debut. The program carries a new user interface with expanded features over the previous generation (this obsolete version is no longer available). UniTrunker supports control channel monitoring for the following trunking types: EDACS Standard 9600 Baud and Narrow 4800 baud (Normal, ESK and Site Pro / Extended Addressing) UniTrunker also supports downloading system information from the RadioReference.com Web Service .
