What is tactile sand?
Tactile Sand is 98% pure sand. It can be easily molded and shaped, with no stickiness and no water required. It never dries out, so you can mold and sculpt over & over. With the magical feel of real sand, Tactile Sand provides a wonderful sensory experience. Easy to clean, it’s suitable for indoor play.

How do you make sand kid friendly?
The basic toddler-safe sand recipe is 8 parts whole-wheat flour to 1 part vegetable oil. We started out with 4 cups flour and 1/2 cup vegetable oil, but you can adjust it based on how much you want to make. All you have to do is add the flour to a bin and then pour in the oil.
Can you make your own sand?
All you have to do is mix 8 cups of flour with 1 cup baby oil (I used JOHNSON’S® baby oil gel with shea & cocoa butter because it smells just like Summer to me!) If your “sand” is too wet, add more flour and if it’s too dry, add bit more oil. Super easy, right?
