In April of 2016, Phi Kappa Tau was found responsible of violating the Miami University Code of Student Conduct. In accordance with Section 2.2.B of the Code, the chapter has been suspended through May 15, 2019. Phi Kappa Tau may submit a reorganization plan to the Cliff Alexander Office any time after November 1, 2018.

In June 2019, Delta Tau Delta’s headquarters revoked the Miami University chapter’s charter. Following an appeal by the chapter, findings of responsibility were upheld and the organization is suspended through March 16, 2034 with an option after March 16, 2029 to petition for an earlier return to campus.

In May of 2015 Sigma Nu fraternity was found to be responsible for violations of the Miami University Code of Student Conduct. The chapter has been suspended with loss of university recognition through March 5, 2018. At this time there are no known plans for the chapter to return to campus.
